About Me & My Work

I’ve always been drawn to observing, listening, and helping people. When I discovered psychology in middle school, I knew it was something I wanted to explore. Learning about thoughts, emotions, and the human mind opened a world that felt both fascinating and deeply meaningful. (My qualifications are listed below)

Over the past nine years, every client I’ve worked with has reinforced my belief that humans have an innate capacity to heal and live fulfilling, meaningful lives. My work is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, a transformative, evidence-based approach that helps people understand their emotions, heal, and thrive.

I truly believe we don’t need to fit into boxes or labels that define what’s “wrong.” Every part of us has meaning. Often, we feel stuck not because we’re broken, but because of the burdens we carry—shaped by upbringing, society, past experiences, and trauma. As a trauma-informed counsellor, I create a safe, welcoming space for every part of you.

Alongside IFS, I integrate breathwork and somatic techniques to help you connect with your body’s wisdom, slow down, and access the deeper layers of emotion and thought. In our sessions, I walk alongside you with full presence and attunement.

Supporting Parents and Pregnant Couples

For parents and pregnant couples, I use the IFS lens to explore the parts of you that show up when parenting gets challenging. By understanding and relating to yourself differently, your interactions with your child become calmer, more connected, and nurturing. I also use Positive Parenting tools to navigate behaviours in a developmentally-appropriate, supportive way.

You don’t have to wait until the perfect time to start your journey of change. We can figure things out, together!

Beyond work

Outside of being a counsellor, I cherish my roles as a wife and “mamma” to my preschooler. I am also a trained Indian classical dancer and have travelled the globe showcasing our cultural heritage. In my free time, I enjoy reading on my Kindle, crafting with my child, or watching a light-hearted show on Netflix with my partner.

I also began my content creation journey in 2022, after the birth of my child. Through my Instagram page, @your.thought.therapist, I share insights on Maternal Mental Health and Parenting. This journey has helped me build a beautiful community of parents who are invested in more conscious living and intentional parenting

I also engage in regular personal therapy and supervision, which I see as an essential part of ethical and effective practice. The ongoing inner work, I feel, helps me remain grounded and fully present with my clients.
